The web portal www.bergamocittacreativa.it makes use of the financing of the “Fund in favor of municipalities with cultural, historical, artistic and landscape vocation, in whose territories are located sites recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites and municipalities belonging to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network” of the Ministry of Tourism, whose objective is to support the recovery of the tourism sector particularly affected by the crisis generated by the pandemic in municipalities characterized by a strong tourism-cultural vocation. The establishment of the fund responds primarily to the objective of revitalizing the Italian tourism sector by supporting the development of projects aimed at the enhancement of cultural heritage in cities in which the presence of sites inscribed on the UNESCO heritage list and belonging to the Creative Cities network and is a determining factor of attractiveness and tourist competitiveness.

The UNESCO program recognizes, celebrates and encourages the ability to create original connections in the cultural and creative fields to offer new opportunities for the development and cultural offerings of the City and its territory. The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) is divided into seven clusters corresponding to as many creative sectors: Crafts and Folk Arts, Cinema, Design, Gastronomy, Literature, Media arts, Music. The Network incentivizes cities to develop joint projects and with players in their area, and is a global platform through which each city can enhance and share its experiences and foster the development of cultural export.
